Feather Flyers decoys

Tips

The following is a list of tips and techniques used by Team FFF that have been proven effective. You may find variations or other techniques successful in your situation.
  • ½ inch EMT conduit cut to lengths of 2 ½ to 3 feet. Remember not to make the conduit too short. Each bird must be able to flip 360 degrees without interference of the ground or vegetation. Longer rods can be used for more visibility when hunting in taller vegetation.
Note: ½ inch EMT conduit comes only in 10 foot lengths and can be found at almost any hardware store, such as ACE, Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc.
  • Painting the EMT conduit is recommended for concealment of rod. Choose a color similar to the ground color you’re hunting in. Neutral khaki works best in most cases.
  • Number of Flippers™ depends on the hunting situation. We find 12 to be the minimum and as many as 60 have been used to attract migrating birds.
  • Placement depends on wind. In heavy wind, place your Feather Flyers’ Flippers on the up wind side of the spread and in moderate wind placement around blinds has been proven effective. Placement in landing zone is also effective in any condition.
  • Flipper formations can vary too. Clusters of them resemble small groups of birds whiffling into your spread and are extremely effective on Ross geese. While straight lines of birds can give approaching flocks direction as they approach. Also, random placement of Flippers will give a stagnant spread much needed life.
  • Flippers perform and look natural in conjunction with other manufacturers' flying decoys. In fact it gives a more complete flock appearance.
  • Keep your Flippers clean. This will guarantee flawless performance and maximum visibility
  • Flippers are made of very flexible super durable foam for top performance. However, do NOT stack anything on top of them! Take care of them and they will take care of you!
  • We now are offering 6 pack bags for easy storage. You can also keep your Flippers in Rubbermaid™ storage containers.
